What is a York rake?
A York rake, also called a landscape rake, is a wide row of steel tines on a tractor's 3-point hitch. It pulls loose stone back into place, knocks down high spots and leaves a smooth finish after the box blade.
Box blade or power rake: which do I need?
A box blade cuts high spots and carries gravel into the low ones. A power rake spins a toothed drum that breaks up a hard, rutted surface and windrows the loose stone. Rutted or washed-out driveways usually need the power rake. A driveway with a few potholes does fine with a box blade.
How is the package price worked out?
Add up our listed daily rates for the machine and each implement, then take 30% off the total. The tractor package is $325 plus $79 for the box blade and $79 for the York rake, so $483 a day becomes $338.10. The track loader package is $350 plus $149 for the soil conditioner and $179 for the roller, so $678 a day becomes $474.60. Book the package online and the 30% comes off automatically.
Can I combine a package with the weekend deal?
Yes. Book a driveway package for Saturday and Sunday and enter the code WEEKEND at checkout. You pay one day at the package price and keep it the whole weekend.
When should I regrade before plowing season?
Before the ground freezes. Gravel packs best with a little moisture in it, so a fall weekend after some rain is ideal.
